How Are You Living Your Life?

This post is going to be a bit different in that I’ll be referencing someone else’s article.  But let me lay the groundwork first.

I recently had a conversation with my brother about limiting beliefs and how we are all “brainwashed” to follow certain patterns though out our lives.  Patterns such as go to college, get a good job where they’ll take care of you and… you can retire at 65 years of age with enough to barely get by on.  We all have bought into these beliefs because authority figures, mainly our parents, told us that’s the way it should be.

Our parents didn’t do this to us on purpose.  They meant well and had our best interest in their hearts for us.  They just didn’t know better because that’s the way they were brought up.  And most of us are doing the same thing to our children.  We mean well but we only know one way to live our lives, the way we were taught.

But we can begin to change all that beginning now.  We have the power and the choice to make our lives and our children’s lives even better than we could have imagined.  We have the choice to live our lives as we choose and to be happy while we’re doing it.  It all begins with a decision to change the way we think and to question some of the beliefs we have about how we should live our lives.
